The AGM will be on Sunday 7th March 2010, held at Heald Green Village Hall. Secretarys Ballot. A typing mistake on Ms Wallbanks CV should read 20 years experience not 2 years. The ballot will as stated close on Saturday 6th March 2010 and no voting regarding the Secretaries will take place at the AGM.

Please note our new Code of Ethics and read this Kennel Club news release. The Committee will be holding a meeting to discuss the
implications of the Code of Ethics and the news release. Apparently we can modify the new code but only with Kennel Club approval. The Committee would value your comments and suggestions.

Collie Cyclic Neutropenia
We have published an article by Lydia Otter of Pennyhooks Farm. It is concerned
with Tessie the Border Collie who sadly passed away in April 2008. Tessie suffered from Collie Cyclic Neutropenia and is the only UK Border Collie recipient of Lentivirus-mediated Gene Therapy as a treatment.

Tony Holliday
It is with great regret that the Club has learnt of the death of Tony Holliday. The membership of the club offer their deepest condolences to Margaret and his family.
Tony was one of the original Border Collie enthusiasts and will be truly missed. His funeral will be on Thursday 8th November 2008. If you wish to attend please contact the Secretary for details.

Members are invited to contribute to the 28th Year Book of the Club. Doug Collier and Louise Hird will edit the book and
the Printers will again be Benard Kaymar of Preston. The Club has decided that the 2008 edition will again be full colour.

Puppy of The Year
Puppy of the Year Judge for 2007 is Ann Jordan and Veteran of the Year Judge 2007 is Jimmy Entwistle.
The event will be held on the 11th November 2007 at Tollerton. Doug Collier will be sending invites out for Puppy of the Year.
Please contact Doug or Jim Collions if you require entry details for Veteran of the Year. Don't forget both events will be limited to 64 entries.

BCCGB Open Obedience Show, Herding Test Update

In other news, we have an update on the herding test - The Kennel
Club have agreed a new test following meetings at Clarges Street. More details to follow once we have received the
minutes from the meeting.

Working Test Update
Following correspondence by the Club to the Kennel Club regarding the Working Test, A representive from the Club has been invited to the Kennel Club on 17 April 2007 to discuss whether the working test should be amended. Also attending will be representives of the ISDS, Kennel Club Working Trials, Obedience and Agility Sub Committee and repesentive from the Breed Council.
Please pass your opinions to the Club Secretary, this is the Clubs Chance to get the Test amended!

A number of complaints have been recieved that there are no Black and White Pages available in the 2007 Year Book. The cost for each page is £52. It is up to the advertiser if they wish there pictures in Black and White or Colour. There is no limit to the number of items you put on that page. You design the page as you wish.
